About the Ethical Trading Initiative Norway

Ethical Trade Initiative Norway (ETI-Norway) is a resource centre and an advocate for ethical trade practices. ETI-Norway’s objective is collaboration to ensure that international trade does not contravene human rights, labour rights, economic development and the environment. This shall be undertaken by:

1. Strengthening the support for ethical trade issues.
2. Supporting members in developing ethical trade practices.

ETI-Norway was founded November 27th 2000 by Coop Norway, the Federation of Norwegian Commercial and Service Enterprises (HSH), Norwegian Church Aid and The Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO). ETI-Norway is a membership organisation, members include companies, organisations and public institutions. ETI-Norway’s members contribute to our aims by their complementary roles and resources in the work for ethical trade practices and improvements throughout the value chain.

ETI-Norway is managed by a board of trustees, the board, who are directly responsible to supreme authority of the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
